Lenovo’s high-end convertible Lenovo Yoga 9i (2022) features a fully new chassis and the latest technology such as Alder Lake CPUs, a 16:10 4K OLED screen, Thunderbolt 4, and Wi-Fi 6E. Excellent Bowers & Wilkins speakers complete the package.
Lenovo’s displays are 16:10, but the bezels are still somewhat large, and the screen-to-body ratio is only 78 percent. Because the lid is smaller than the base unit, they are not properly aligned when you turn the screen over. The Yoga 9i is also a touch heavy when used solely as a tablet, weighing just over 1.4 kilograms.
Lenovo Yoga 9i (2022) has three USB-C connections, two of which are on the left side and support Thunderbolt 4 at 40 GGB. Lenovo has also included a standard USB-A port so that you won’t need an adaptor. Unfortunately, there is no card reader.
Lenovo uses the Intel AX211 Wi-Fi module, supporting the newest Wi-Fi 6E standard for networks operating at 6 GHz. We had no issues connecting the Yoga 9i to the 6 GHz network of our new Asus reference router (GT-AXE11000), and the transfer speeds were both fast and consistent.
The IR camera for Windows Hello facial recognition and the 1080p camera, which can be veiled by a manual shutter, is located on the top bezel. The picture quality is superior to standard 720p modules, but don’t anticipate miracles.
